Reconnecting with nature could be key to achieving synergistic improvements

Visit natural spaces: Physical and Mental Health: People who visit natural spaces weekly and feel psychologically connected to them report better physical and mental well-being, according to a new study.

In addition to the public health benefits , those who make weekly visits to nature or feel connected to nature are also more likely to engage in behaviors that promote environmental health, such as recycling and conservation activities, she added.

The findings, published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology , indicate that reconnecting with nature could be key to achieving synergistic improvements for human and planetary health.

“Our results suggest that  reconnecting  physically and  psychologically  with nature may be beneficial for human health and well-being, while also encouraging people to act in ways that protect the health of the planet ,” said study lead author Leanne Martin of the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom.

The findings are based on responses to the Monitor of Engagement with the Natural Environment (MENE) survey, commissioned by Natural England as part of DEFRA’s social science research programme.

Physical and mental health

The research team looked at people’s engagement with nature through access to green space, visits to nature, and the extent to which they felt psychologically connected to the natural world.

“In the context of increasing urbanization, it is important to understand how engagement with our planet’s natural resources relates to human health and behavior ,” said Leanne Martin .

“These findings provide vital new insights into the need to not only increase contact with nature, but also the type of experience that actually helps people build an emotional connection , which is key to unlocking health benefits, as well as inspiring people to take action to help their environment.

“We look forward to using the research as we work with our many partners to support more people from all walks of life to benefit from thriving nature ,” concluded Leanne Martin .

What is Grounding and how can it help your health?

Grounding is walking  barefoot on grass, dirt or sand , which is contact with the energy of the earth through our feet.

According to experts, humans are electronic beings and we are like antennas that radiate and receive energy.

An imbalance between positive and negative ions can cause health problems. When we feel tired and drained of energy, it may be due to a loss of electrons and therefore a lack of grounding.

The reasons may include air pollution, what we eat, the products we use and how we deal with our emotions and stress. In rooms with high levels of electronic equipment and poor ventilation, the electronic content of the environment is often low or virtually non-existent.

The earth is full of electrons, and these electrons are absorbed by bare feet when walking, which has a very strong antioxidant effect and eliminates free radicals.

We are surrounded by electronic devices and connections that make our lives easier, but they can also be a danger to our health, causing headaches or stomach aches, anxiety, lack of concentration, low energy or insomnia, among other things.

Many studies looking at barefoot walking show that it reduces inflammation throughout the body, which is the cause of diseases such as diabetes, asthma, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, and many heart diseases. In addition to this, there are other advantages:
